Guest guest
FYI, chlorine can irritate lung tissues and can cause bronchitis. And a reminder, the chlorine isn't just inhaled, your skin is absorbing it. Supposedly, a normal shower results in the body absorbing the equivalent of the chlorine in a glas of water. The only prevention I know of is avoidance. I don't know if oil on the skin reduces the absorption. Jeff
Guest guest
Jeff, You're right I much prefer swimming in thefresh water pond-although that is not as available as the saltwater which I also love BUT the harmful effects of the chlorinated pool are offset for me by the fact that I go early in the morning for a few laps and some peace & quiet(I am a homeschooling mom to4 kids) There is also a hot tub yup I know that is probably killing me too :-) anyhow I could go 3 times aweek but I only go 1 or 2 times I get a lot of joy out of this It's 5 dollars open 3 mornings a week and it's olympic sized and very airy space so the chlorine dissipates a bit I do lap after lap-works out all the kinks in my body I do agree but I also think that I have about 100 years on this planet and my body can handle some stuff. It would be uch better to have an ozone purification but ... well there it is Emrawfood , Jeff Rogers <jeff wrote: > > > > FYI, chlorine can irritate lung tissues and can cause bronchitis.
