allergy shots

I stopped getting allergy shots a little over a year ago. I was

getting them for about 9 months to help me with my cat and dog

allergies because my boys desperately wanted one. I have to admit

they helped me with other allergies (trees and grass) and I stopped

sneezing throughout the day for the first time in my life. I also

noticed that I wasn't as sensitive to sunlight and didn't have to wear

sunglasses outside. I did not notice a difference to dogs and cats.

But the allergist told me I really hadn't gotten them long enough to

deal with that allergy as that is the most difficult.

We have recently acquired 2 kittens and I am back to feeling

miserable. Does anybody know if there are preservatives in the

allergy shots or if it is just the allergen itself? I am considering

getting the shots again. I do not take medicine anymore. However, I

feel the shots helped me stop having to take the allergy meds.

Has anybody had their allergies to pets dissipate after eating raw?

Thanks,

Beth

Beth-

I haven't gone compeltely raw, so I don't know if that

will help you with your allergies. I can say that

when I switched to body washes that were all natural

and paraben free, for some reason, my allergy symptoms

decreased. I can hold my dog now, whereas before, he

made me sneeze like crazy!

It doesn't make sense, but that's the only change I

made at that time!

Hi Beth and all,

I'm not positive, but I think I remember David Wolfe et. al. claiming

in their book that pet allergies went away for them, following

changing to a raw diet. I read it a few yrs. ago but don't own it.

Maybe someone else can verify?

I can empathize...I had cats for several yrs. and didn't even realize

the extent of my allergies until I finally had them stay at my in-

laws' house for awhile. For the first time in yrs., I didn't go

through a box of Kleenex a week!
