Guest guest
Hello all: Tomorrow is my big day (of this particular evolution in my life) I am to give a food-preparation demo for my CSA (and they have just told me I have todo it 3 times!) I have told them that it will be all raw food, and, surprisingly, they have been very receptive! As it turns out, the owner of the locale where we receive our distributions is interested in raw food, so... who knows where this can lead..???? (Really I am working toward qualifying as an Excalibur " associate " , if you want to know the truth, but any angle for branching out in my practice is worthwhile, as I see it. If nothing else, maybe some people will like the food) I found out today what vegetables are to be delivered, so I ran lickety-split to the market (okay, I meandered down there *in the rain* after work!) and picked up enough " similar " vegetables so that I can look like Martha Stewart, or someone on the Food Channel... I will (immediately after I post this message) prepare EVERYTHING, for tasting after the demo, so they can see what what I make would look like after it sits (it has to sit). I am supposed to have something for little children to do (so I will have some spiralized zucchini that they can cut up with plastic knives). I can pre-prepare almost everything I need to do, so that is lucky. The farm has said it is going to deliver zucchini and kale (among other things), so I am going to prepare my massaged greens -- I've gotten kale *and* collards, so people can see that the recipe is flexible. I will demonstrate my delightful and wonderful cutting technique, which easily makes everything so nice, massage-able, palatable, and digestible. then I will demonstrate my fascinating vegetable massage technique! I have ONE zucchini left over from last week, and it looks okay, so that is what I will " pre-spiralize " . If they will give me zucchinis from the delivery, I will demonstrate how my cute Spirooli works. On the off chance that that will happen, I am going to make a simple tomato sauce (no recipe) to put on the spiralized zucchini. I believe I can do this successfully, but it is always good to have people wishing one luck, so I am asking you to wish me luck. If you would like a sample of the yummy delicious organic raw food that I will make, if you are in the vicinity of 34th Avenue & 36th Street in Astoria, Queens, NYC (that would be the Steinway stop on the R train, 34th Ave. exit), please come down (to the Cafe Bar, which is where the Astoria CSA distribution is) and cheer me on, or at least wish me well, and maybe sample my goodies. Otherwise, just pray for me.... thank you for your support. Off I go to the kitchen, where 4 bunches of kale and collards, some onions, and some herbs that I dehydrated from last week's delivery await the ministrations of my fabulous Chinese stainless steel chopper. thanks Margaret
Guest guest
Good luck Margaret. Spirooli SUCKS.
