Guest guest
I would use a different sponge. I have a dishwasher and I was wondering about stuff like this too. My main concern is the soap. Even though theoretically all the soap is washed away, is it possible it can contaminate the dishes/silverware? We've had some soap products that the smell of made me really sick when the dishwasher was running. I'm kind of OCD with rincing plates, glasses, etc before using them, just in case. I know some people have separate dishes that are only for special food. I never felt the need to have separate dishes, pots, etc. I do have my own forks because I always eat with salad forks. Nurotic behavior carried over from childhood! lol Sponges though can hold on to stuff and knowing gluten is not whater soluble, I whould be concerned that the plates are being coated with a layer of gluten. I could just be crazy, but I wouldn't use the same sponge just to be sure. To me, it would be the same as using a utencle to flip veggies after fliping a hamburger with it, or someone saying just pull the pepperoni off your slice of pizza. It's already contaminated! That's my thoughts about it anyway! Guest guest
Hello, I don't use a sponge at all, personally I think they are kinda gross. Food gets trapped in there and can rot. I use a clean fresh dish washing cloth everyday. They are easy to launder and take care of. When I do hand wash, which I do everyday cause I don't like my plastics to go in the dishwasher, I always wash the 'gluten free' things first (like the kids lunch contains) and anything that was used for gluten foods is washed last. This way I don't worry about gluten residue left on anything. So, clean cloth each day, gluten free dishes first. Also, I like to rinse my dishes that go into the dishwasher. I don't run it everyday, and this way I don't worry about gluten in the dishwasher either. Hope you find this helpful. Guest guest
Interesting.... It's true, gross to think of it that way... I have enough on my plate but when the dust settles I think I'll do the same , " twocrazymonsters " <TREFFRRO wrote: > > Hello, > I don't use a sponge at all, personally I think they are kinda gross.
