Have you changed soaps recently or moisturizing creams for your son? I found

that I had a sun burn rash like rosacea on cheeks, mouth area when I used a

certain moisturizing cream. It was a real surprise as it was hypoallergenic and

not tested or containing animal products. But I tested it again and sure enough

- it had to go into the trash.

He is just now on a GF diet. My plan is one month of the entire family GF

and see how we are all doing. Not a vegan diet. I would like to work towards

that, but sometimes we have to take baby steps. At night now I read to the 3

boys and then we do streching and breathing exerices. Karen

Have you started him on the gf vegan diet yet? Omega 3s are a good

recommendation to try as well. If he continues to have the rash and

emotional issues, I'd explore the possibility of other

allergens/sensitivi ties. Yoga and meditation may help him find a sense of

emotional balance and calm. I haven't read the book that Sally recommended

but it sounds like a good book. I'll have to check it out. Good luck with

your son. I hope you figure it out and he gets better. A lot of stuff like

this is trail and error, but at least your trying to be a good mom and help

him get better. I hope you find an answer! :)

Karen, if the rash is Dermatitis Herpetiformis, the rash associated with gluten

intolerance, it may simply take a little time to resolve itself. Adherence to

100% gluten-free diet is necessary of course.
