Spiced Cherry Relish

THis is a nice alternative to cranberry relish. I use frozen cherries.

 

 

 

Spiced Cherry Relish

 

 

500 g (17 1/2 oz) fresh cherries

1 cup sugar

2 cinnamon sticks

8 whole cloves

2 oranges, finely grated rind of

1/2 cup fresh orange juice

 

 

1. Remove pips from cherries, then roughly chop the cherries.

 

2. Place cherries in a small saucepan with remaining ingredients.

 

3. Bring to the boil over medium heat, reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes or

until mixture thickens.

 

4. Cool.
