Guest guest
It is possible to have allergies to more than just gluten. Many on this list have multiple allergies. Milk is a very common allergy among gluten intolerant people. Corn, peanuts and tree nut allergies are also very common. If you have problems with peanuts you probably will have problems with some beans like garbonzo/chick peas. Since many on this group have multiple allergies you can find some recipes and ideas that are safe for you to eat, but not all recipes will be safe for you because some are able to eat corn, nuts, potatoes, etc. Many different health problems can occur in people with gluten problems. I have a lot of bone pain, muscle aches and frequent headaches, as well as some balance problems and forgetfulness. Other things can cause these symptoms too. If you have been avoiding all the problem foods for at least a year and you still have problems I'd suggest going to a neurologist. Many of these symptoms can be the same as MS or similar diseases. Especially if they seem to get better for a while then get really bad again for a few weeks, then start getting better again for a while. Being vegan you need to take B12 because you can not get enough from the diet. The sublingual pills are the best kind. They dissolve under your tongue. I would recommend taking a good multi vitamin and probiotics or digestive enzymes (check and make sure they are safe/no ingredients that will make you sick). Vitamin or mineral deficiencies can cause you to have some problems too. Bone pain can be from low vitamin D. If you can't get enough sun light during the day you may need to take vitamin D pills. A good multi vitamin should provide you with everything you need and help your body get healthy again. You may want to see a nutritionist who is knowledgeable about gluten issues and other food allergies and also about vegan diets. They could help you to work out a menu plan of safe foods that can help you get all the nutrients your body needs without making you sick. This is where you should probably start. Once you get a well balanced diet and any vitamins or similar pills you may need then you can get your levels back up and hopefully you will feel better and a lot of the problems you have will go away. If they don't go away after a few months of all your levels being normal and your still avoiding all problem foods, then talk to your doctor about seeing a neurologist. They will do an MRI of your brain and check how you walk and your strength and reflexes in both hands and legs and ask you tons of questions. If you have a problem like MS or similar there are various therapies and even medications that can help slow the disease and help you feel better. Hopefully that is not the problem you have. I hope all you need is to get your vitamin and mineral levels up and keep following the diet and feel better. This group talks about lots of things. We ask each other for information and ideas all the time. It is okay for you to write for information. Many may not respond because they may not understand you. I tutored other students in high school and college and some where ESL. I may not always understand but I will try. I hope I answered all your questions. I tried to write as simple as possible so it is easy for you to understand. Are you able to read English better than you are able to write it? I know people who are ESL and some of them say it's easier to read than write. Most say it's easier to speak than read or write. English is a very difficult language. You did quite well writing. I think I understood everything you where asking. If I confused something or didn't fully answer all your questions, I'm very sorry. Please try asking again. I hope I was able to help you understand. Good Luck. Jae
