Bread Crumb Substitution

I have a recipe for a walnut burger that calls for both egg and

breadcrumbs for binding - I know I can substitute flax and water for

the egg, but what kind of substitution for the breadcrumbs? I hate

to buy a loaf of GF bread just to make breadcrumbs, but if that is

the best solution, I will.

What about rice?

I would try the vegetable puree in place of the flax. Flax tends to

make patties gummy, in my experience. I would add ground flax and the

veggie puree instead.
