Guest guest
Hi All, I am new to deleting wheat from my diet. I find that my thinking is much clearer and thoughts much more positive. I have not had wheat for about 3-4 weeks. My question is that for the past 2-3 days I am craving something to eat, but cannot figure out what it is. I have had protein, fruit, greens, corn tortillas but again I don't know what it is that my body wants. I know that you all don't know what I want to eat, but I am wondering if someone else knows what I might be craving because I recently, cut out wheat. Thanks, Gina
Guest guest
Hi Gina; In part, your body may be experiencing withdrawal. Wheat/gluten actually has addictive properties that can take some time to resolve. It sounds like you are doing all the right things to help your body detox and adjust. Have you tried eating gluten-free grains, other than corn? The ones I have access to are teff, millet, sorghum, rice (lots of different types), buckwheat (yes, it's gluten free!) and quinoa. I find these help me feel more normal because with these, I can enjoy crackers, breads and other baking. Deborah Hi All, I am new to deleting wheat from my diet. Guest guest
I get that sensation every so often. It's not just a newbie thing! I think most people, regardless of their diet, have those moments! Since you just gave up wheat, your body may want carbs. Safe breads, crackers, pretzels, cereal, rice or potatoes may help satisfy you. That would be my best guess. You can get someone to play this game with you where they ask you questions and you have to say the first thing that comes to you. So, sweat or salty? mild or spicy? pasta or veggie burger? etc. and that may help you narrow it down to what you really want. Good luck. I know that feeling so I hope you solve it quickly!
