Guest guest
We haven't traveled through the UK yet with my allergies/intolerances to gluten, dairy, eggs, and soy, but we did make it through the Netherlands and Germany without me getting sick once in March. A detailed list of my restrictions, including what I could have, proved very helpful; we had printed out a bunch of copies so that it didn't matter if a server didn't return it. Lara bars for breakfasts, trail mix for snacks, and trips to the health foods stores for safe European treats not available here made the trip quite manageable. I have faith you can do it. Guest guest
You might be surprised. Ireland is supposed to have one of the largest Celiac populations in the world and to be very progressive about dealing with food allergies. Make contact with your lodging, especially if you are staying at a b & b, and our UK members can help with stores and lists of items not available in the US. Guest guest
If there are any type of snack bars, cereals, or any type of shelf stable foods like dried fruits, pack plenty to take with you. Eating trail mix for an entire vacation is not all that appealing, but it's better than starving! A while back I posted a link for a site in which gluten free restaurants are listed and you can search various locations. Do a search for place where you will be staying and call to see if they can accommodate you. That way you'll know for sure where you can go to eat. If your staying where a mini fridge is available you can take your own salad dressings and whatnot so you at least can get salads if all else fails! Good luck!
