Guest guest
Did you find this out from calling them, or did you get an email? I checked the packaging of Ocean Spray Craisins when we were shopping, and there's no mention of wheat on the packaging---just cranberries and sugar. And I'm not saying that people don't put incorrect info on the packaging, because of course they do at times, but isn't it illegal at this point in the US for them to have a top-8 allergy in the food but not listed on the packaging? If you got an email about it, will you forward it on to me (off the group is fine)? I'm writing a recipe that includes craisins in it and want to have proof if I tell readers that Ocean Spray's craisins are not gluten-free. It's not liberal. It's not conservative. It's simply common sense. This is a national emergency. . . . Guest guest
I checked... they don't all have wheat. Ha, actually, more like I freaked out royally and raced online to write and see what in the world was going on According to the email they sent me, the only things that might have wheat in them are the Trail Mix Craisins....there's a couple variety of that, I guess. The regular ones and all the flavors (orange flavored crasins or whatever) are good to go according to what they told me. , Sally Parrott Ashbrook <sally.parrott wrote: > > Did you find this out from calling them, or did you get an email? Guest guest
I actually called them a week ago about this. The person I talked with was - VERY SURE - that there was not wheat in the Craisins product. Not in the product or anywhere on the lines to produce craisins. Cranberries. Sugar. period. However. There are trail mix products that include craisins and oats.. and whatnot... that has wheat/gluten in it. I think that's where the " craisins have wheat " thing got started.
