If anyone misses the flavors of bacon & sausage (I did) I recommend the

cookbook " Vegan with a Vengeance " . There's a recipe for slicing tempeh

and marinating it overnight is a mixture that contains liquid smoke.

This strips are YUMMY in a BLT. The " sausage " is made with crumbled

tempeh and a perfect blend of spices that includes fennel. What flavor!

I added mine to a soup and my non-vegan husband just loved it. My local

library has this cookbook, perhaps yours does, too.

 

I've been eating like a queen lately. Winter is my season to experiment

with new recipes. I found another loaf recipe I really like--it's from

recipezaar and is called " vegetarian meatloaf (vegan) " The recipe makes

too much loaf, next time I'll halve it.

I have this book it rocks! I wanted to try this recipe but couldn't find liquid

smoke.  Where can I buy this?

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm writing it down and looking it up.

We use a tempeh as a crumble sub, too. It's good!

Any mainstream grocery store will have it--you might need to ask

where they keep it.
