Guest guest
My fav soap for 30+ years gives me something else I can now relate to. Lexie's autistic child was put on the gf diet and she was referencing to a colleague how she supplemented her son's diet with Calcium/Vit D now that he was on this gf diet. Then in another scene she yelled at her dad for trying to give her child a regular cookie. She said " Dad, when are you going to trust I know what's best for my child? " I was just so happy that even TV is now writing about this major problem in today's world into their scripts! Yesterday I learned that there's a movie out right now called Bedtime Stories. Courtney Cox played an uptight mom who served " gluten free wheatgrass cake " at a child's birthday party. Wow! The world is changing for the better gang! I am so so happy to see these small references. It's only gonna get better from here. Kudos to those of you that have been on this gf diet for long time. Guest guest
Wow. Those certainly are signs that gf awareness is hitting the mainstream! Too bad the Mom was characterised as " uptight " though. It sounds like the makers of the movie are trying to poo-poo it still. Ah well. Derision is one of the stages we have to go through to gain acceptance. Like Mahatma Ghandi said " First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. " :-) Onward and upward... Deborah My fav soap for 30+ years gives me something else I can now relate to. Guest guest
Karen Would you believe that one of the daughters on the Cosby Show did that too? Sadly in that episode it was more about healthy and raw (which was weird in the 80s and still considered hippy food) but Cliff (the doctor who should have known better) hide a regular cake in the basement fridge because " all kids deserve cake on their birthday " and the kids found it and pigged out. It is a good thing that tv shows are picking up on these issues though.
