Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am new to this group, gluten-free, but not veganism. I have been vegan for about 14 years now, and am *just* starting to eliminate gluten from my diet. I do not have celiac, I'm just trying to eliminate gluten because it has been suggested as a source for many minor health problems I've had (fatigue, acne, etc) so I'm biting the bullet after trying everything else with no success.. I have an 18 month old nursing son who will probably be on this journey with me. I do have a couple questions off the bat, if any of you have ideas for me.. I read a small thread on lunches in previous messages. I am thinking about getting a lunchbox for my son to use and also to bring food with us whenever we go somewhere. Can people share what works for them? Originally I wanted to get a stainless steel lunchbox, but now realizing that sandwiches probably will no longer be a staple of our lunches, I'm thinking that a laptop lunch getup may be better, or just an insulated bag style? Also, I saw there's a ton of gravy recipes in the files section. Can anyone recommend one that will go good with mashed potatoes and turkey? I'm having thanksgiving dinner at my house this year, but my grandmother is bringing a turkey and I'd like to make a gravy we can all eat. And finally, can anyone recommend a good, easy to make and throw in the crockpot soup that may be good for thanksgiving as well? My blender just broke so there will be no yummy carrot soup that I was planning, and I just don't have time to try out many other ideas.. Thanks in advance!
