Guest guest
I recently fell and broke my wrist. My doctor ordered lab tests for calcium and vitamin D. My calcium was normal, but the D was less than 4 (normal is 30-80). I live in a not-so-sunny state and don't eat dairy products (which have the vitamin added) and apparently have not been supplementing enough. The recommended daily dose for D has gone way up, for both adults and kids. There's a lot of new information out there about the relationship between Vit. D deficiency and diseases. I'm now on prescription strength D supplements. Don't end up like me--as vegans, be sure you're getting enough D. Sierra
