Guest guest
Oat Waffles *Another tried and true; delicious --- don't think that something so simple can't be yummy! 8 cups rolled oats, gluten-free, lightly dextrinized in the oven (browned) 1 Tbsp. salt 8 cups water Mix together and allow to stand overnight in refrigerator. Preheat waffle iron but do not allow to smoke. Use 1 to 1 1/2 ups batter for each waffle. Bake each waffle 15 minutes before opening waffle iron. Remove and place on bare rack i oven at 175 degrees to keep hot until ready to serve. Serve with favorite fruit sauce or maple syrup. Makes 5 waffles, 4 sections each. *I haven't tried the variations* To make Melba Toast Waffles: Dry waffle completely in oven at 200 degrees. A dainty! Soy Waffles: substitute part or all of the oats with soy flour. Buckwheat Waffles: substitute part or all of the oats with buckwheat flour. Corn Waffles: substitute part or all of the oats with cornmeal.
