Guest guest
I just bought a pressure cooker and am wondering if you can cook beans and rice together in it or do you have to do them one at a time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Daisy
Guest guest
Hi Daisy; I'd definitely do them separately. The beans are likely to take MUCH longer than the rice. I would think that putting them in together would result in the rice being completely mush by the time the beans were done. Lentils and rice can be done at the same time, although one is advised against doing lentils under pressure, due to risk of clogging the vent. They can be done quickly enough in a regular pot anyway.
