Guest guest
Our Whole Foods sells vegan crab cakes in the deli that obviously are to die for! My husband, who I believe is on the verge of becoming a vegan, will buy one of these crab cakes for $4+. I really hate to fuss about him buying these cakes because I can see he is trying to make positive changes in his diet. Therefore, I would like to try to make these crab cakes using the ingredients listed on the package. However, the very first ingredient is mock chicken nuggets, which is a soy protein. I'm not for using meat analogs and was wondering if anyone could suggest a substitute that might have the same texture as these nuggets, which I've never tasted. Thanks! Guest guest
That is a really tough one. Have you tried the " fish " sticks from vegan lunchbox (the recipe in on the blog)? I sometimes make " not crab cakes " with zucchini, but texture will be compeltely different. ________________________________ " admartin5 " <admartin5 Wed, February 10, 2010 11:25:37 AM Substitute for Soy Protein  Our Whole Foods sells vegan crab cakes in the deli that obviously are to die for!
