Guest guest
I revised the end of my letter a bit. Seems I forgot to include my phone number so when I resent it ... well ... I proofread it one more time and added ... Dear Sir, I am truly appalled at the lack of understanding of this author, as if parents were simply choosing a different style of house or type of car. Being vegetarian is a way of walking through this world on a chosen ethical path as well as for health reasons. It is not a whim nor is it undertaken lightly. Kids have to learn to say no to sex, drugs, and a host of other dangerous activities. We undervalue their abilities when we say that it is to hard to make tough choices that are opposite those of their peers. Advising them to compromise implies that a parent is a vegetarian on a whim and does not have valid reasons for that choice. That, sir, is not a message I want to give to my children. Sincerely, Isa Aviad
