Guest guest
Maybe you can suggest some healthier additions to the snacks, like trail mix, sunflower seeds and dried fruit (like a real camper would bring along). I've had 11 years of experience with pre-schools and I will tell you you are in for an " uphill climb " . I was constantly educating the educators. And I continue with our public school system now. Working on improving the school snack and lunch programs (even though MY children never participate!). How's this for a whopper - - In a conversation with the head of our STATE Department of Education for Curriculum (in MD) she actually argued with me that " Trix are food " . In our county they were feeding this to our FARM (Free and Reduced Meal) students for breakfast with strawberry flavored milk and powdered donuts and then sending the children to class without brushing their teeth. We have a long way to go to reverse the misinformation and propaganda that has been thrust upon us for the last 50+ years. A good read on this is Michael Pollan's newest book " In Defense of Food " . Even though he isn't a vegetarian he has some important points to make. Bonnie Sorak bssorak 410-465-0427 Home 443-799-0349 Cell
