Guest guest
Both our daughters had something similar. Their digestive system just seemed to be off. I thought that maybe they were gulping too much or that my let down was too strong (I used to nurse laying down with them on top so that the breastmilk wouldn't just shoot to the back of their throats, causing them to gulp or gasp). I did also consider the foods I ate while nursing but nothing seemed to be causing more or less gas. One thing, if the syringe works, why not stick with it? My girls never had bottles. Has anybody tried Gripe Water? We have used it, especially when our children were younger, for gas and upset stomach. It contains ginger and fennel - the same things recommended to pregnant women for nausea. We heard about it from many people from Canada and England and our pediatrician (who is from India) was well aware of it. The child's version is sweetened (agave) and does not contain any alcohol, which apparently, the adult version does/did. We found it a Whole Foods. With the massages, make sure you are rubbing the abdomen in the flow of the digestive track. With exercises, don't forget the " happy baby " yoga pose - with the baby on his/her back, gently bring their bent knees to their chest (like rolling them up into a ball). My daughter took to breast feeding pretty well but now that I am at work her daddy needs to give her a bottle but she absolutely refuses. We have tried a few different types as well as nipples, and I am pumping so she doesn't get anything different than what I give her but she screems in protest! She eats by suringe so she doesn't go hungry. Help please! Also, did any of you have issues with your little ones being extremely gassy while being breast fed? How did you help them feel more comfortable? We do tummy massages and if absolutely needed i will give a bit of mylicon. Thanks so much for taking time to read this. > > Amity >
