Guest guest
I'd look at flower remedies, either Bach, Perilandra, Pegasus or Flower Essence Society(FES). Feel free to have your friend contact me if she would like more specific info. These have no side effects and no problems with interactions with other drugs, etc. Laura In a message dated 5/31/2009 7:50:31 P.M. Guest guest
My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 3 years ago. It is a very strange disease. She has been on a series of medications that have slowed (and briefly reversed) the progress of the dementia. We had to get her a live-in caregiver this past fall; she has insurance that will cover this for about 3 years. Based on a recent study, Christine Northrup (and other doctors) is recommending CoQ10 supplements; I thought that my sister had forwarded the article to me, but I can't get my hands on it. We have had her on flax oil supplements for several years. Feel free to pass my contact information on to your friend. Guest guest
I am (yet again) going to suggest Linda Rector-Page's Healthy Healing. The edition I have does indeed have help for Alzheimer's, and her website probably has some info, too (www.healthyhealing.com , if I'm not mistaken). I have used her books (and remedies, Crystal Star brand) for probably 15 years and have NEVER been disappointed. She's so great UCLA asked her to teach several courses for its med school, unheard of in the 'alternative healing' world. If you can't locate a copy of the book, or don't find enough info on the website, email me and I can email, fax, whatever, more info to you. j. ________________________________ " VAP79 " <VAP79 Sunday, May 31, 2009 6:45:51 PM Re: Help for Mother with Alzheimers I'd look at flower remedies, either Bach, Perilandra, Pegasus or Flower Essence Society(FES) . Guest guest
A while back I read something about people having success in reversing the condition with getting their mother onto a raw food vegan diet. Now I am not a raw foodie myself, and don't know where I read it, but did a quick search and there is a film climp at http://annwigmore.com - see testimonial 1. I'm sure you can do some more research on the topic via google if you are interested. I can imagine getting someone from the older generation onto a raw food diet would be a challenge, but there are some great recipes out there now that more closely resemble 'normal' food. Cheers!
