Guest guest
Give this one a try soon. Don't be afraid of the addition of coffee! It really works well and tastes great. Baked Beans for Crockpot 3 cups dried Great Northern beans 1 large onion, chopped 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped 3/4 cup ketchup 1 Tbs. prepared Dijon mustard 1 tsp. liquid smoke 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 2 heaping teaspoons instant coffee dissolved in 2 Tbs. hot water 1/2 cup molasses 1 cup water [more as needed during cooking] Salt and Pepper to taste Place beans in a large pot or saucepan and cover with water. Heat to boiling on the stove over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and cook 10 minutes; drain. Add the beans to the crockpot. Add the remaining ingredients except for the salt. Cook on high for 6 hours or until the beans have absorbed the liquid and soften, check to add more water as needed. Season with salt and more pepper before serving. Yield: about 2 quarts ** i think this recipe could be easily spiced up and made more delicious by adding some Cajun seasoning and chopped jalapeno peppers. ~ pt ~ " So don't be afraid. What we left behind, leave it back there. Try to do some good. Let's try to take a step, try to think something good.
