I can empathize with you! My wife and I used to have the same sort

of problems with our families. They did try to understand. They'd

try hard to fix a dish that we could partake of. How do you respond

to that when you are wary of the type of stock they used, or if

there's any whey or lactose? Oh, these veggies aren't organic... It

just sounds so loopy to non-vegans. But it is something that we as

vegans hold dear. The choice of what we put into our bodies is

ours. However, in a society where one is surrounded by the " meat

religion " , it is tough. Most of our relatives and acquantances are

now used to our bringing our " own " food to gatherings. It just saves

them the hassle and us the stress.

hi all

yes, taking meals when visiting people near me is no problem, but when relatives live far away, and it isnecessary to say stay a week, and turning up and cooking my own food would be considered very rude, if not cause bigger arguments than already evident, i am stuck........

dont think theres a solution, just wanted to moan about it!
