Guest guest
I have to admit I find some of the judgement hard to take as I am a religious person. Raised loosley Catholic and following Christs teachings. I do not believe there is anything wrong with tact in attempt to avoid hurt feelings. I do not think following religion has anything to do with a lack of self belief, if you took a hundred Christians or Buddhists or Pagans I imagine you would have 100 reasons for following that faith. Some people have struggled in their personal lives with addiction, troubled childhoods, ect, and have found strength in God when they could not find it elsewhere. Some people are drawn to God or Goddess as a way of connecting with the earth and the seasons and enjoy a coven or what have you to share the beauty with. Some people are brought to God so they can serve his will to better mankind, and feel God as a guiding presence as they work to help feed the homeless, the mentaly disabled, the poor. Such as Mother Theresa. She was inspired by Jesus's kindness and wanted to reach out to others. She didn't have time to question whether she had self belief, she was too busy making the world a better place. I would say we should always question our beliefs, it will make us wiser people. If we need a guide that makes sense to us then for some that works. It may not work for everyone, if someone likes to learn from a book or a friend or from their own observations about life than if that works for them great. I wouldn't judge that choice. I think before judgement you might question why you feel others are not able to follow their own paths, if they are not harming anyone, and they have found what works for them. I hope not to offend you, this isn't my intention. peace Ok, as I said in my intro, I won't be tactful.Could someone explain to me why so many people have so little self belief, that they would rather believe in a mythical being to rule their life, rather than their own ideas? Is it so hard to have one's own beliefs, rather than trying to tie them tosome religion or other?Dave The New Search - Faster.
