The danger of coming across as quasi-religious vegans is projecting

(intentionally or not) a puritanical, ascetic kind of image that just puts

most people off. Funnily enough, some people have mistaken me as a " Cliff

Richard " type, or pure, born-again Christian,... before they got to know me,

I hasten to add. My old boss asked me once why I was vegan, and when I told

him he said he admired my dedication, but couldn't do it as it would ruin

his enjoyment of food. Being seen as a " kill-joy " or preaching type is not

going to impress anyone who loves their steak and burgers. And let's face

it, they don't really give a rat's about chickens...
