Thank you to whoever said for others to be tolerant, it was hard for me to read the extreme bible bash.

With that said, I am not Christian, not becasue I do not believe in Christ's teaching but because I often disagree with the doctrines of Christianity, the church, and many Christians, I do not see Christ's teachings reflected in the church enough to become part of the institution, this is just my opinion.

It is also just my opinion that the bible is a great book, divinely inspired, but still written by men. I am thankful that Jesus's messages are saved in this book, I also feel that the bible can be interpreted in so many different ways, perhaps we are trying to make sense of Aesop's fables, when truly we should just be looking for morals in the stories.

I think kindness is a value of Christ, I will not say a Christian value because Christ was a Jew, but I think it should be reflected in Christianity as well. There for my kindness towards animals does reflect my inner Christ, that light that guides me towards good over bad. I think any desicion I make for moral reasons I give the credit over to Christ, God, Allah, whatever the name you prefer.

My relgious views do not find fault with paganism, buddhism, or any other ism, although traditional Christianity probably would.

peace

Well, I guess my problem is really with most " mainstream " xtians, who are

more Paulian, really. If more xtians were like, say, Jimmy Carter, they

might not get such a bad rap. Too many of them show little compassion for

their fellow humans, much less animals, unless they can get something in

return. They've gotten so far from Jesus' message of loving one's fellow

human. And so many horrible things have been done in the name of

religion--all religions, just not xtianity.
