Guest guest Posted April 15, 2008 Report Share Posted April 15, 2008 Steamed Asparagus with Rustic Fig Sauce Source: readysteadycook.ten.com.au, Recipe by: Jacqui Gowan 30 g (1 oz) vegan margarine 3 figs, roughly chopped 4 tsp white balsamic vinegar 4 tsp brown sugar 1 bunch asparagus salt and pepper, to taste 1. Melt margarine in a saucepan over medium heat, add figs and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until figs soften a little. 2. Add balsamic vinegar and brown sugar, reduce heat, and cook for 6 to 8 minutes or until sauce has thickened. 3. Microwave, blanch or steam asparagus until tender. Drain and pat dry. 4.
