Guest guest Posted February 8, 2008 Report Share Posted February 8, 2008 Fresh Fruit with Ginger Syrup 1/2 medium pineapple, chopped 6 fresh figs, quartered 200 g (7 oz) black grapes 250 g (9 oz) strawberries, halved 2 small mangoes, chopped 1/4 cup passionfruit pulp (about 4 passionfruit) Ginger Syrup: 1 cup sugar 1 cup water 6 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger 2 cinnamon sticks 1 nutmeg, quartered 1. Ginger syrup: Combine all ingredients in pan, stir over heat, without boiling, until sugar is dissolved, simmer, uncovered, without stirring, 2 minutes. Remove pan from heat, cover, stand 10 minutes. Strain, discard ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. 2. Combine fruit in bowl, add warm ginger syrup, cover, refrigerate several hours or until cold. Serves 4 to 6.
