Guest guest
Hi Kim, I saw you post in the files for this crust. You noted that you omitted the oil. I have a few questions about the rest: Can I sub WHITE RICE FLOUR instead? What can I sub for the apple juice? (can't use orange..I am allergic) Can I use fresh lemon? If anyone else has answers for me that would be great!! Thanks, In His Gracious Grip, Susann
Guest guest
Hi Susann, I traced the recipe back and it was originally posted by another member back in 2001 (the note is their's), so you probably won't get a reply from them and its not a recipe I have tried. My guess would be that by omitting the oil the crust wouldn't hold together as well as it would with it. A good substitute for the apple juice concentrate may be pear concentrate or perhaps something like maple syrup or agave nectar. If anyone else could help, the recipe is below. Good luck with it and if you try it let us know how it turns out. Kim BROWN RICE FLOUR CRUST Source: Mother Nature's Garden Cookbook 2/3 cup brown rice flour 1/2 tsp GF baking powder 1 tsp ground cinnamon 3 Tbsp (45 ml) frozen and thawed apple juice concentrate 1 Tbsp (3 tsp) water 1 Tbsp (3 tsp) oil (I omitted this) In a medium bowl, mix together the rice flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. In a small bowl, mix together the apple juice, water, and oil. Stir the juice mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until the dough is blended. Press the dough in the bottom and up the sides of a 10 " (25 cm) deep-dish pie plate. The dough will be sparse, and it may not completely cover the bottom of the dish. Bake the crust for 12 to 15 minutes, or as directed in the recipe. , " Luke's S.P.I.R.I.T. Academy " <eatcleanlivefree wrote: > > Hi Kim, > > I saw you post in the files for this crust. Guest guest
I haven't made this crust, but someone mentioned pear concentrate, My daughter is allergic to eggs and I've given her pear juice - I can always find it with the baby food/baby juices - they usually have 100% pear juice there (and maybe others) I would think it would be a pretty good substitute, otherwise there may be other juices there you could use. > > > > > , " Luke's S.P.I.R.I.T. > Academy " <eatcleanlivefree@> wrote: > > > > Hi Kim, > > > > I saw you post in the files for this crust.
