Guest guest
Hi members? I'm confused and need need more answers? I have believed that I suffer from IBS and must be intolerant to wheat or gluten (I am still not sure which or both?). However after having numerous blood tests and other tests for coeliac they have all come back negative. I also have been diagnosed with PCOS. Although my hormone levels seem to be quite low, my blood sugar levels are normal. I " m frustrated as I appear quite healthy. I have been trying to follow a vege, low fat, gluten free diet. And whenever I stuff up on my diet, I suffer pain and discomfort. So there must be something wrong. My GP has suggested I see a gastroentorologist to have a biopsy? Has anyone have any experience on this? I would be grateful for any comments or advice. Confused and exasperated, Alison.
Guest guest
Alison: The surest way to know whether or not you have celiac disease is to have a biopsy done. From that test your doctor will know for certain whether you are gluten intolerant or not. That is how I was diagnosed. The blood tests are the first step, then the biopsy is done to confirm it. Hope this helps. Pam Check out the hottest 2008 models today at Autos.
Guest guest
I have trouble with wheat gluten and any wheat products. Sometimes I get a reaction from rice flour products too. I think it might be the preservatives or chemicals they use too. I can usually do a good 20 days out of every month and the other 10 days I screw up. ~Melanie
