Guest guest
I'm curious whether any of you have a brand of lip balm that you like that is both vegan (so no beeswax, lanolin, etc.) and gf. I had been using Alba's lip balm, but it's got wheat germ oil, so I'm thinking I need to find another. As a last resort, I could try making my own (anyone have any ideas how to do this?), but it sure would be convenient if I could find a commercial one. I don't want to use petroleum jelly, so I'm looking for a multi-ingredient lip balm, preferably one with the most natural ingredients possible. Thanks! Guest guest
Check this out for healthy choices of lip balm and other toiletries. It is a great resource. This is part of the Environmental Working group called Skin Deep. I have utilized their great info personally for the last year or two. http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com/wordsearch.php?query=lip+balm Kristen Kozitza SycamoreChristian On Jun 6, 2007, at 5:30 PM, stephanie_trombone wrote: I'm curious whether any of you have a brand of lip balm that you like that is both vegan (so no beeswax, lanolin, etc.) and gf. Guest guest
I use a simple to make homemade lip balm made from mixing a little beet root powder (health food store) into virgin coconut oil. I love the rosy color, but you can also make it color free. I just melt the VCO, add the beet powder, pour it into a well sanitized commercial lip balm tube or pot, and refrigerate it. I take it out of the fridge about an hour before I need it-if in a pot, it will hold well at room temp. Brenda
