Guest guest Posted May 19, 2007 Report Share Posted May 19, 2007 Sweet and Sour Mushroom Sauce (Russia) Source: Encyclopedia of European Cooking (adapted) 4 oz (115 g) mushrooms 1/2 (English) pint (9 1/2 fl oz) (285 ml) stock 1/2 tablespoon (1 1/2 tsp) vegan margarine 1/2 tablespoon (1 1/2 tsp) GF flour 2 teaspoons sugar 1 tablespoon (3 tsp) lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon salt pepper Wash, peel and slice the mushrooms and simmer in stock until tender. Melt the margarine, blend in the flour and dilute with a little of the stock. When well mixed, add the mushrooms and the rest of the stock, sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
