Guest guest Posted May 19, 2007 Report Share Posted May 19, 2007 Stuffed Baked Apples (Swedish) 8 medium cooking apples 5 tablespoons (15 tsp) sugar 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) ground almonds 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) GF breadcrumbs 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water 1 1/2 oz (40 g) melted vegan margarine Mix 3 tablespoons (9 tsp) sugar with almonds and water. Wash and dry apples. Remove cores but leave apples whole. Puncture skin all over apples with a fork. Stuff almond mixture in the centre of apples, dividing equally between them. Coat with melted, slightly cooled margarine. Mix breadcrumbs with remainder of sugar and roll apples therein. Place in greased shallow oven dish. Bake in a moderately hot (375 F) (190 C) oven for about 1 hour or until they are soft. As the exact time depends on their size, it is best to test them with a fork.
