Guest guest Posted May 6, 2007 Report Share Posted May 6, 2007 Cream Sauce Source: The Genesis Diet Cookbook 1 cup cashews, raw, washed 2 1/2 cups water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. onion powder 2 tsp. arrowroot powder 3 Tbsp. vegan chicken style seasoning (recipe in archives*) Grind cashews to meal in a dry blender. Add 1 cup of water and blend well. Add remaining ingredients and blend. Pour into saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick and creamy. Refrigerate if not using immediately. Serving suggestions: Add 2 cups cooked garbanzo beans and serve over baked potatoes or rice. OR Mix with green lima beans, peas, corn, chopped sweet onion, red bell pepper, or diced tomatoes. *Commercial vegan chicken style seasonings are available: Bill's Best Chicknish or McKay's are gluten free.
