Guest guest
Hi, Can someone tell me how to make this recipe without the eggs so it tastes as good! Thanks so much SUNFLOWER BURGERS 1/2 cup textured vegetables protein 1/2 cup boiling water 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 cup cooked brown rice 1/2 cup grated carrots 3 eggs******* 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp chili powder Up to 1 tbsp canola, peanut, safflower or corn oil Combine the textured vegetable protein and boiling water in a measuring cup. Let sit about 15 minutes to increase volume. Grind the sunflower seeds in a food processor for about 45 seconds. Add the soaked textured vegetable protein, brown rice, carrots, eggs, salt, pepper and chili powder to the food processor and puree until combined. Make 7 patties out of the sunflower seed mixture. Heat the oil in the nonstick skillet over medium heat. Brown patties for 3 minutes on each side in the heated skillet. If you want cheese on top, add the cheese during the last minute of cooking until it all melts. Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell? Check outnew cars at Autos. Guest guest
Hi Crystal, Since the eggs are used for binding in this recipe, there are several options. I would probably add about 1/4 t0 1/3 cup of garbanzo-fava bean flour or soy flour. You could also add a blended mixture of tofu and water if you use soy products. A flax seed gel would work (about 1/3 cup) or cook quinoa. In this specific recipe, you may choose to just add a little more brown rice. The amount of binder doesn't have to be exact. Add and mix until you have a consistency you like. It will be thicker than if you used eggs while in the uncooked form, but will cook up much like eggs. Let us know how this works for you. It looks really good! ~ LaDonna ~ , crystal sacco <benatarfan29 wrote: > > Hi, > > Can someone tell me how to make this recipe without the eggs so it tastes as good!
