Guest guest
Orange and Black Olive Salad 4 oranges 10 black olives, pitted and sliced 1 tsp. paprika 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tsp. lemon juice, fresh 3 Tbsp. olive oil 2 Tbsp. parsley, fresh and chopped Peel the oranges and slice thinly. Arrange on a plate and place olives on top of orange slices. Blend the paprika, garlic, lemon juice, oil, and salt. Mix well and then pour over oranges. Sprinkle with parsley. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. This allows the flavors to marinate and absorb. Enjoy!
Guest guest
I recently spoke with a retired immunologist/allergist. He insisted that people following a gluten free diet needed to avoid oranges as well. He said that there is gluten in the membranes and that most people do not realize this. I have done a really very quick web search and cannot find this info. I have researched prolamine in oranges as this is what causes a reaction to corn in some celiacs but found no connection. I did find one website that said orange liquer could not be used in a GF diet but it didn't say why. My gluten sensitive daughter refuses to eat citrus but recently has begun drinking orange juice. Any thoughts? Thanks, Carrol , " LaTeaDah " <teacups wrote: > > Orange and Black Olive Salad > >
