Hi I'm new.... was browsing the recipe files, and didn't see anything comparable

to this

version of Shepherd's Pie that I invented a few weeks ago:

Golden Shepherd's Pie

Sauce

1/4 cup vegan margarine

1/4 cup white rice flour

1/3 cup non-dairy milk

1/2 cup " un-chicken " broth (or more if needed)

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. onion powder

1/4 tsp. tumeric (color)

salt & pepper to taste

1/2 of a 1 lb. bag of frozen chopped broccoli

1/2 of a 1 lb. bag of frozen mixed vegetables (pick a mix with lima beans: some

have

them, others just have corn, carrots, beans and peas))

3-4 Cups leftover mashed potatoes

paprika

Melt margarine in a large saucepan and stir in flour gradually to make a roux.

Slowly add

non-dairy milk and un-chicken broth. Adjust liquids if you want sauce thinner

(or add a

little more broth mixed with cornstartch if you want it thicker). Add spices.

Makes a

golden " chickeny " sauce. Stir in frozen veggies to coat and preheat. Pour

sauce and

veggies into greased baking pan or casserole dish. Spread mashed potatoes in

layer over

veggies. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake in 350 degree oven until heated

through... about 45

minutes.

disclaimer..... I am a " dump " cook and rarely measure. I hope I've estimated

above

amounts corrrectly... feel free to adjust.
