Guest guest Posted March 6, 2007 Report Share Posted March 6, 2007 Moroccan Syrup Oranges 6 oranges, peeled and pith removed 1/3 cup sugar 1 cup water 1 teaspoon cardamom pods 2 cloves mint leaves 1. Slice oranges into 1 cm (3/8 " ) slices. Arrange in a shallow dish. 2. Place sugar in a saucepan. Gradually blend in water. Bring to the boil, stirring. Reduce heat. Simmer, without stirring, until syrup begins to caramelise. Remove from heat. Carefully blend in cardamom and cloves. Pour syrup over oranges. 3. Stand for at least 2 hours before serving.
