Guest guest
I've noticed that there still seems to be a lot of controversy over all of the research and testing done regarding the celiac and oats. But missing oats as much as I have these past 3 years, I finally gave in and purchased gf oats at Wild Oats several months ago. (I noted a link to the company below) I've made cookies with them and eat oatmeal. Everyone responds to foods differently and I've been lucky in that I've not had any problems with the gf oats. However, I do try and limit my consumption of them because you just never know ... http://giftsofnature.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY & Store_Code=GON & Categ\ ory_Code=CGFO Marie =) On 1/23/07, chewbella <susandison wrote: > > I haven't eaten them so far.I stick to fruit, lots of salads & > vegetables, legumes, plain brown rice cakes and groud flaxseed.I'm a > little scared to try oats!Any tips?Should I keep them out? > > >
Guest guest
Recent research from spain and switzerland seems to indicate that the protein in oats (avioine) while not gluten is so molecuallarly similar to oats that most people diagnosed with CD find they eventually have the same trouble with oats as they do with gluten. My children can handle oats for about 3 times in a week, me I can't tolerate even once.
