Hi friends, I've been appreciating tips and thoughts here. I've been gf for

about a year, along with my teenage son. We handled that diet change well-I

have always been a cook-from-scratch kind of cook anyway. About a month ago

I became convinced that a vegan diet would be healthiest for us. I was

reading Colin Campbell's new book " The China Study " . I highly recommend it

for making the connection between a whole foods plant based diet and better

health. (He affirms the environmental and animal rights arguments as well,

but he is a nutritional biochemist so that's where his study lands him.) My

son agreed to be vegan. He's a fine adventurous eater! He won't eat bell

pepper :-( but he just found out that he does like mushrooms as long as

they're wild mush, not those white button mushrooms. So I've checked out

lots of cookbooks from the library and we're experimenting like crazy.

My questions are: What are some good things to think about and products to

use as we're switching? It is a little hard to remember at every moment to

ask both is it gf AND is it vegan. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but some

short cuts would be great!

And secondly, as with any change in diet, my guts are reacting as they

adjust. Any favorite ways to deal with the bubbly tummy?

Thank you.

Laurie
