Guest guest
You know the kind where you add mayonaise (I use vegonaise) and sour cream (I use the fake stuff) and then you add the mix to it and let it sit for 1-2 hours. Has anyone ever made any of the mixes? We just found out that we are having a baby and it's the only thing I'm hungry for (dip with carrots). I have some mixes, but I'm so afraid they will have gluten in them. I called the company, but they didn't know. Well, I'm also wanting mexican food, but I'm not even sure what I would make without cheese. lol Shannon

As for mexican food: beans and rice! I love corn tortillas with black beans and rice. I make my black beans with a can of GF chipotle sauce, olive oil, sweet onions, and a small piece of baking chocolate. I just cook up brown rice as usual. Toss into a steamed corn tortilla. You can top with veg sour cream. Today, I had some young friends over (wee children) who wanted burritos and whose mother prefers veg food. I added some safe taco seasoning (the kind meant for beef) to a can of lentils as I heated them in a pan. Ate them with tomatoes, salsa, brown rice, and some non-vegan things which I shan't mention here. (You can find vegan subs quite easily. Being allergic to soy, I use the kind which aren't vegan). We ate them in steamed corn tortillas and everyone was happy. Congrats on the pregnancy! I was craving hummus for the first couple weeks (at 13w4d now), then I suddenly hated garlic. Very weird for me, but what can you do? We eat lots of beans and rice. Today's lentil soft tacos are gonna be a favorite, though. Hubby just walked through with a plateful of the leftovers. ygg
