Belinda,

Oh how I'd love to swap with you!

As a food addict, there is nothing that will stop me from eating. If I'm happy,

I eat, if I'm upset, stressed, sad, depressed, I eat. For me, eating has little

to do with being hungry. Of course I eat when I'm hungry, but to be honest, I

don't know if I can actually tell you if I know what hunger feels like. I have a

constant compulsion to eat food. It is so awful. Even going to O.A. did not help

me.

So when I hear about people, like yourself that say they can't eat when upset, I

am so envious.

That's why this (raw) is a desperate last attempt to do the right thing and

allow myself to loose all the weight I have tacked on over the last 12 years.

[Raw Food] Re: Emotional Eating: Crossing the Line From Nutrition Into

Stimulation (WAS: Bored with raw ... Becky)

Call me strange, but whenever I am stressed, worried, and/or upset,

food is the last thing I want. My appetite goes away and trying to

swallow food, is unpleasant. I pretty much stop eating at all as

nothing goes down well and nothing sets well.

Jeannieh-

I am in the same boat as you- I eat regardless of how

I'm feeling! And sometimes I eat to the point of

needing to throw up! UNHEALTHY!

One thing that has helped me (when I do it) is really

setting aside the time to enjoy and focus on what I am

eating. Instead of eating quickly or in front of the

tv or on the run.....I have been trying to have more

meals where I savor what I'm eating, and I've been

trying to be really observant about how it makes me

feel and what is going on on a sensory level.

Maybe if you did this even just once a week it would

help....I have been trying to get 2-3 times a week,

but it's hard....esp. in our " gotta go gotta go "

society. I really do well when I put the dogs out,

and put some soft music on for myself.

Try it and share how it goes?
