Guest guest
Thankfully I nor my immediate family have diabetes, so I don't know a lot about it. I was watching something on TV about it. And they said that Type 2 diabetes (the kind that is NOT insulin dependent) can be totally controled by diet and excersise. Now I don't know if controled means healed or not. They also said you could totally avoid getting it by diet and excersise. One of the things they said was that the sugar in fruits and vegetables was NOT a problem and anyone can eat all they want of those. Is this true? I thought that diabetics could not eat much fruit and veggies with high sugar content. But this woman showed a whole platter full of fruits and veggies and said they were great for anyone to consume in any amounts. The problem was all the white sugar in food and drinks. Then went on to show how much sugar is in various things. She also warned of fruit juices. She was showing the commercial juices, not fresh. Guest guest
Amazing! I don't understand why there is not more info about this, more studies, etc. Of course the hard part is getting people to commit to it. Which may be why there is not more info on this. I think that is why doctors over med everyone. Because they know that the most of them are not going to do what they need to on there own to get better. My very overweight aunt was finaly dismissed by her doctor, because she would not do what he said. (loose weight) She wanted him to give her knee replacements. The doctor said she was entirely too young and also that if she was not willing to loose the weight, the new knees would not hold up any better than her original ones. He finally got so put out with her that he dismissed her. Sigh......and I didn't blame him. So she has bad knees, a pace maker and I think diabetes, and she is still eating what ever and how much. She said she would rather be in bad health than not eat what she enjoys. So you really cannot help someone like that. You can't force them to eat more healthy or take better care of themselves. So I am guessing that is the reason there is not more info out there on folks getting well by eating a healthy diet. Because the ones that are not well, don't want to give up their SAD diet long enough to see if it would work. And then those like my aunt, even if she knew it would make her well, still wouldn't do it. Belinda > Take a look at this!
