Guest guest
Hi Anjali, I'm continuing my backlog cleanup, your turn. Actually, in this case, I did wrote off to Dr. Doug Graham and did a bit of additional research ... and that explains about 2 days of the elapsed time. Sorry! First, let me say that all numbers posted here are guesstimates ... there simply is not that much study done on genuinely healthy people. But I'll give you the best perceptions presently available and of which I am aware. Body fat percent: Men ... less than 10 (well under is fine); Women ... mid-teens, say 15% give or take. Since you report a body fat % in the range of 9% (If I am remembering correctly), I suggest getting a " better measurement " , using a better technology such as calipers. You are in the range where you'd want to know. Body temperature: Somewhere between 93-96 degrees F, considerable uncertainty still here. But NO question that our biologically normal body temperature is several degrees less than what is generally believed. Resting respiration: Somewhere between 8 and 12, probably closer to 8. Again, more research needed. Pulse (resting heart rate): 40s to low 50s; above 60 seems high. Blood pressure: 90/60, but there is some variability on the upside. 120/80 is probably at the high end of " okay " . The differential between the two numbers is also important, looking for something in the vicinity of 30 +/- several 5-10 percentage points. Again, more research is needed, partially to distinguish between athletes and normal, healthy people who are not athletes. I've lost lots of body fat since I've become raw, and was wondering how much do we need? It's probably based on our height, isn't it? Or is it even necessary to know and just trust that our body is taking care of us as long as we eat low fat and fresh fruits and veggies? My scale says I'm at 9-10% which is way under the 28% it is programmed to say is " normal for my height (5'6 " ). Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Anjali
