Guest guest
Hi Janet & Caron, Caron, I assumed you were talking about a way to start lactation w/o drugs. Was I wrong? Just curious. There are techniques mentioned in the relactation and adoptive lactation articles on the Australian Breastfeeding Association website (and elsewhere, but that's the one I know offhand), that do not involve drugs. Drugs are suggested as one method, because, as with most things, drugs are touted as being " more effective " and " faster acting " . It is possible, though, for an adoptive mother, who has never been pregnant, to breastfeed an infant without the use of drugs. (Obviously, this is from my reading, not personal experience, as I'd given birth before I found out about it). Caron
