panic attacks, anxiety

I used to suffer from panic attacks many years ago.

Definitely a debilitating disorder that, as has been

pointed out, often turns into agorophobia and more

general anxiety, as you try to avoid every possible

triggering situation.

 

One Christmas, my sister, realizing my father's

" It's all in your head " admonitions were not helping

and being a gentle, understanding soul, she gifted

me the book Don't Panic! by R. Reid Wilson, PhD

It was immensely helpful. I just gobbled it up

(aka, read it) and though I also bought many others

myself, it was by far the best, and I credit it and

my sister's patience with my recovery.
