Not a Diet, But a Way of Life (WAS: Results of Banana Diet)

Hi there,

Helpful if you would sign your posts, so we all know who is who.

Do people who have been doing this for years count, or only people who did

it for a few days or weeks?

You do not " cure " this (or anything other than bacon and the like). Rather,

you create healthful conditions, your body begins managing your blood sugar

better and better, the food supply for the candida diminishes, and they die

out or vacate (at their own discretion, of course :)

From my perspective, it's not a diet ... the whole concept of " dieting " is

self-defeating in every respect imaginable. Rather, it's a set of choices

about how to live, eat, etc. In other words, it's for life. Otherwise,

you'll just keep recreating the same symptoms. Why? Because these are

opportunistic organisms, And every time you drive up your blood sugar by

overdosing on fats, the organisms will recognize food ... they are quite

intelligent and consistent in this regard. Therefore, we must match their

level of intelligence in the way we choose to eat.

So yes, you can start out on one food, as bananas, then add some back in.

But in the end, you'll either change the way you eat, or you'll return to

the conditions you have already created.

Hope this makes sense.

Best,

Elchanan

[Raw Food] Results of Banana Diet

I'm sorry to bring this up, but it's candida once again... I have been

suffering for a long time now - didn't know it was candida until I started

seeing a kinesiologist. The main culprit to my health was a parasite - the

fungus was secondary. I became raw to rid myself of the parasite which was

successful. Since January I have been taking SF 722, Pao D'arco, Morinda,

and various nutrients. I've also been on & off with my rawfood diet, but I

was what you would consider gourmet - alot of nuts, avocado, coconut, etc.

I know, I know, all things that I've read on this group that I should stay

away from. Part of me just didn't want to believe. So anyway, here I am,

still suffering and now I'm ready. I'm more than willing to do the banana

diet but I would love to hear from someone that it actually worked!?! Has

anyone actually cured their candidiasis by following this diet? Also, I

need some more info... is it a full 7 days of just bananas & water? I

suppose I should stop all my herbs & supplements too? and then what after

that week of bananas? I need to know - I'm a planner - and I need to

mentally prepare myself for this. Thanks in advance for any & all help.

I really would also recommend the books Sick and Tired by Robert Young, Phd (in

pleomorphic organisms....candida!) and Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine, a

specific raw foods book by Gabriel Cousens, MD, at Tree Of Life, dedicated to

the anti-candida diet. He's helped thousands, easily. It's full of low-fat raw

vegan recipes and a distinct plan of action. :-)

Thank you for your response and for sharing your knowledge. I do understand that

this

needs to become a way of life for me, but until I get there, I am looking for

the quickest

way possible to find some balance and to end the suffereing that the candida has

caused

me.

I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me that after doing the banana diet for

a week they

felt great and it was totally worth it. I am working towards being 100% raw and

I just

ordered Graham's book, but in the meantime I need to jumpstart my system. I am

willing

to eat only bananas for an entire week, but this is not something that I would

do if I didn't

know that it would have a profound effect on my health.

Do you think this will kill off enough of the candida so that afterwards, if I

fall off the

80-10-10 wagon, they won't be in such abundance that I'll immediately feel their

effects.

Thanks for your help...

Kristine
