Belinda, I find this to be the operative statement in your post:

___

I have no idea how they are getting it, without supplementing.

___

That you have no idea has nothing to do with anyone's nutritional program,

other than your own. The information has been placed before you. Whether you

listen is entirely up to you.

The primary challenge people face today lies not in eating enough nutrients,

but rather in eating and living in ways that stop the leaching of nutrients.

There is NO diet that can supply, nor does the human body possess the

capacity to digest and assimilate FROM ANY SOURCE in the short-term, a

sufficient supply of many, many nutrients to offset the loss of nutrients

arising from dietary and lifestyle choices.

The nutrients are indeed in the food in abundant supply. A scan of the

nutrient database confirms this ... and as I've written before, most RF

teachers, and in fact most nutritionists, dieticians, and the like, have

never looked at the nutrient database, not even once.

Have you? Would you LIKE to?

Best,

Elchanan

Re: [Raw Food] 80-10-10 diet

Yes, we do need B-12 (it is very improtant) and I have no idea how they

are getting it, without supplementing. It is likely believed that a

healthy body produces it or something. That sems to be the answer from

all the folks of diets that do not contain a mineral or vitamin that we

need.

Choline is another that we need that comes in foods that the 80-10-10

diet, I don't think includes. Egg yolks, meat, legumes, whole grain

cereals.

I have my serious doubts that women would get enough iron on this diet.

There just is not enough of the foods that are eaten that have it in

there. For men, this may not be a problem.

The same for calcium.

And of course. The proteins and the amino acids that we need.

Doesn't look like enough and from enough different sources to balance

it out.

Anyway, I am not jumping on this path until I know more. Alot more.

I just do not see a way to get all the nutrients our body needs to

function properly, without adding supplements.

I also would imagine some might need to be on this diet for a while

before they notice a problem. For others, it might not take so long.

Listen to your body and don't always assume that discomforts from your

diet change is de-detox.
