Eating of flesh and chronic, systemic violence; Active vs. passive violence (WAS: Killing is killing)

Belinda,

Both statements are correct ... and both are incorrect due to

oversimplification.

There are many approaches to " eating and living vegan " . Different approaches

have different effects. It is correct to say that, in general, such a

lifestyle influences our output of many hormones in socially favorable

directions. However, please note that most American men, being very sick,

have very low testosterone output. This is evident in the focus of the drug

industry on Viagra, Cialis, etc. For these men, production of testosterone

rises dramatically once a healthful diet is introduced.

More to the point, the focus upon a single hormone, and upon this hormone,

is misguided. As I wrote yesterday, the issue lies in the adrenalin and

related chemistry that is in the meat when we consume it. Those who consume

meat on a daily or near-daily basis continually flood their systems with

this complex of hormones/chemicals. Such people tend toward EITHER active OR

passive aggression ... BOTH are tragic expressions of violence. In contrast,

a person who eats flesh, say, once a week does not flood his/her system in

the same way and is considerably less prone to the chemical effects I have

described.

Best,

Elchanan

Sounds like eating and living vegan decreases the testostorone:o).....or it

could be that the meat products increases it.
